There is an *ulā* on Śaṅkaraśōḻan which seems to mention his elder brother under the slightly different name Kumāramahīdhara. It must be noted, however, that as neither the *kōvai* nor the *ulā* mentions any historical events specifically traceable to Kulōttunga III of the inscriptions,⁴¹ the identification of this king with Kumāra Kulōttunga of literature is still open to doubt. There is no means available at present of ascertaining the exact relation of Saṅgamarāja to the Cōḷa line.
