c24.11

'no longer considered it the proper course to own allegiance to the ruler who had bestowed the crown on him on a former occasion. He began once more to feel that his security lay in his own fertile country, and declined to do the usual honour to the commands (of the Pāṇḍya), refused to pay the usual tribute, and (instead) despatched a large army (*pēraṇi*) preceded by an advance guard (*tūśi*).'
