The Tiruvēndipuram inscription narrates the campaign of the Hoysala Daṇḍanāthas in considerable detail, and establishes the identity of Kāḍava chieftain, who attacked and imprisoned Rājarāja and subsequently released him, with the celebrated Kōpperuñjinga (Mahārāja-simha in Sanskrit) who fills a rather large place in the annals of the period. Other inscriptions from the Tamil and Kannaḍa country confirm these facts.
