ippaḍi irukkak-kaḍavargaḷ āgavum. 224 of 1917 from Koṟukkai, Tanjore district, dated 1169, furnishes an example of the *sabhā* taking 160 *kāśus* from the temple treasury and agreeing to pay the taxes due on half a *nilam* which, after years of neglect, was brought under cultivation to provide for the supply of a flower garland every night to the temple; the *sabhā* agreed to continue to pay the taxes on the land irrespective of any changes in ownership.
