c29.24

From the reign of Rājarāja III, we have an instance of the original land registers of a *brahmadēya* village, Talaiccangāḍu, being lost in a commotion, and the steps taken by the village authorities, with the sanction of the central government, to prepare a fresh register of rights based on prescription (*anubōgap-parroḷugu*). The *sabhā* record their sense of gratitude to the prime mover in this business of regulating titles and restoring order after the period of confusion.⁵² The inscription is dated A.D. 1235.
