Āḷuḍaiya Nambi, i.e., Sundaramūrti, the real contemporary of Tirumaṅgai, and Āḷuḍaiya Piḷḷai (Sambandar). *Āḻvārgaḷ Kālanilai*, p. 137—a shrewd guess, but not more. More recently the same scholar has restated some of Dr. S. K. Aiyangar's arguments and sought to establish the contemporaneity of the two hymnists; but his new argument rests on the unproven and improbable assumption that Nandivarman Pallavamalla had the title Vairamēgha. *Dr. S.
