We do not know anything about an Aryan speech being current in the Deccan, but evidently from Mālava and Gujarat and Varad (h)ā-taṭa (Varhāḍ or Berar) Aryan dialects, mostly from the Śauraseni area, were spreading into Mahārāṣṭra.
