The names of other Sātavāhana kings—Karna, Kumbha and Rudra Śātakarni who ruled over the eastern Deccan and Madhya Pradesh—are known from coins but are not included in the purānic list which was presumably compiled before their reigns began. Other princes of Sātavāhana extraction governed minor kingdoms in different parts of the Deccan, but nothing is known of the causes that brought about the downfall of the main dynasty.
