The Pāndya king Neḍuñjeḷiyan distinguished by the title ‘he who won the battle at Talaiyālaṅgānam’ may be taken to have ruled about A.D. 210. This ruler was celebrated by two great poets, Māṅguḍi Marudan alias Māṅguḍi Kiḷār, and Nakkirar each contributing a poem on the monarch to the ‘Ten Idylls’ (Paṭṭuppāṭṭu) besides minor pieces in the Puṟam and Aham collections.
