Kapileśvara, however, kept up the war, capturing Rajahmundry and Kondavidu before 1454, being aided in his enterprise by the Kshatriya and Velama chieftains of Telengana. His conquests extended up to Śrīśailam and included a large part of the Kurnool district. He sent his son Hambar against Mahmud Gawan, whom he defeated, to capture Wārangal in Telengana, and later, on Humayun's death in 1461, Bidar. He then conquered Udayagiri in Nellore, and Kāñchipuram and Trichinopoly in the southern provinces of the empire of Vijayanagar (1463).
