The scheme of decoration and sculpture on the outside of the walls is also the same as in Tanjore, but the style is more ornate. The Caṇḍēśvara shrine to the north of the vimāna is a small structure of the same style and period as the main temple. The separate temple of the goddess, a medium-sized structure with a vimāna following the Tanjore model more closely, appears to have been built not long after the main shrine.
