The nephew, “Chikka Raya,” may have been Ranga III., “Chikka” (young) being, as Barradas tells us, a name usually given to the heir to the throne. In that case Ranga’s son, Râma IV., “one of several brothers,” would be the boy who survived the wholesale massacre related in the letter.
