¹ This same tale is told of many kings and chiefs in Southern India. The "Tazkarat-ul-Mulûk" (Ind. Ant., May 1899, p. 129) also relates it of the Bahmanî Sultan Ahmad Shah (1422-35), alleging that it was the behaviour of a hunted hare that induced him to make Bîdar his capital.
