⁴ On upper course of the Rāpti, perhaps Sahēṭh-Mahēṭh on the boundary of the Goṇḍa and Bahraich Districts. Inscriptions discovered by the Archaeological Dept. seem to identify the site (*Annual Rep. A. S.*, 1908–9, p. 137). The difficulty is that the site does not suit the indications given by the Chinese pilgrims (see *J. R. A. S.*, 1900, pp. 1–24).
