¹ Tāmralipti seems to be a Sanskritized form of Prākrit Tāmal-itti, which is equivalent to classical Tamil Tiramida, i. e. Dramiḍa. The original forms would have been Tiramiḍatti and Dramiḍadatti (K. P. Jayaswal in *Ind. Ant.*, 1914, p. 64).
