The list of Āndhra kings is taken from Pargiter, pp. 38–43, *71*. The Purāṇas give the name of the first king as Śiśuka (*Mt.*), Sindhuka (*Vā*, *Bḍ*), or Śipraka (*Vṣ*), and state that ‘the Āndhra S., with his fellow tribesmen, the servants of Suśarman, will assail the Kāṇvāyanas and him (Suśarman), and destroy the remains of the Śungas’ power and will obtain this earth’. He is identified with Simuka of the Nānāghāṭ inscription, No. 1113, incised in script of about 200 B. C.
