⁵ I follow Strabo’s spelling; Arrian’s Parapamisadae looks like an obvious Greek alteration. The forms Paropanisadae and Parapanisadae also occur. All I want is the name by which Greeks knew the country; which form is likeliest to be correct is guess-work.
