⁴ For two ant-stories of the sort from Khalatse near Leh see A. H. Francke, *Asia Major* I, 1924, p. 67. He was also shown a large live ant which was called a ‘gold-digger’. The name may have sprung from folk-lore; or again it may mean no more than the name of the tiny spider which in Britain is called a ‘money-spinner’.
