² Plut. *Alex.* 62, Chandragupta λέγεται πολλάκις εἰπεῖν ὕστερον (i.e. after he was king of Northern India) ὡς παρ’ οὐδὲν ἦλθε τὰ πράγματα λαβεῖν ’Αλέξανδρος, where τὰ πράγματα means the Mauryan empire. The king who ‘just missed’ that empire was not Alexander but Demetrius.
