The advance of the Greeks to Pāṭaliputra is recorded from the Indian side in the Yuga-purāṇa (p. 132); translations of the material sections are given in full in Appendix 4, with such discussion as is necessary. It remains to take the outline (we cannot get more) of Menander’s advance and see the way in which the Greek and Indian sources agree and supplement each other, a conclusive proof that the story is true.
