³ Stephanus *s.v.* Βαβυλών knows of a man Babylon son of Bel who was κτίστης of the city, but this cannot be what Herodicus had in mind, for a κτίστης cannot personify a city, while an eponymous nymph can; and it is the city, not its κτίστης, whom Herodicus calls θεόπαις.
