⁷ I suppose the occurrence together of the two names Θαγόρα (Tagora in some Latin versions) and Θοάνα in Ptol. vii, 2, 7, on the Great Gulf in Further India, near the equator, might be held to point to a connection. But what the names can mean here I have no idea, unless it is merely one of the usual cases where Ptolemy turns one place into two, see pp. 231 sq.
