The Sons of Ajīt Singh.—Bakhta Singh obtained Nagor ; and Abhai Singh was rewarded with the viceroyalty of Gujarat, which gift he repaid by aiding in its partition, and annexing the rich districts of Bhinmal, Sanchor, and others, to Marwar ; on which occasion he added Jalor to the domain of his brother Bakhta, or, as the bard styles him, *bad-bakhta*, ‘ the unfortunate.’ This additional reward of parricide has been the cause of all the civil wars of Marwar.
