“ Kalar, third son of Baland, had eight sons, whose descendants are designated Kalar.³ Their names were, Sheodas, Ramdas, Aso, Kistna, Sama, Ganga, Jassa, Bhaga ; almost all of whom became Musalmans. They are a numerous race, inhabiting the mountainous countries west of the river,⁴ and notorious robbers.
