The Rājar Tribe.—They are said to be of Bhatti descent, and confine their haunts to the desert, or the borders of Jaisalmer, as at Ramgarh, Kiala, Jarela, etc. ; and the thal between Jaisalmer and Upper Sind : they are cultivators, shepherds, and thieves, and are esteemed amongst the very worst of the converts to Muhammadanism.¹
