The learned translators of the *Harṣacarita* find an allusion to him in the word Śaśāṅkamaṇḍala (*Hc. C. T.*, Preface, p. x). According to one *MS.* of the *Harṣacarita* he is called Narendragupta (*Ep Ind.*, I, p. 70).
