XVII. *Dauṣsādhanika*, literally one who undertook difficult tasks. If, however, this term is identical with “Dauṣsādhika” or “Dauḥsādhasādhanika,” we may with Dr. R. G. Basak render it as “porter or superintendent of villages.”²
