Majumdar: “But the prestige of the Pratihāras suffered a severe blow from which they never completely recovered” (Ibid., p. 68). At another place, however, he affirms contrariwise: “It may be safely laid down that the Pratihāra empire remained intact and probably its boundaries were extended in Mahīpāla’s time” (Ibid., p. 64).
