The *Rambhāmañjarī* of Nayacandra even testifies that Govindacandra achieved a victory against Daśārṇa on the day of his grandson Jayacandra’s birth⁴. According to the *Meghadūta* of Kālidāsa,⁵ Daśārṇa denoted eastern Malwa, of which Vidiśā or modern Bhilsa was the capital, but it is rather doubtful if this region actually submitted to the yoke of Kanauj.
