The inscriptions give us to understand that Govindacandra had at least four wives, viz.,
(a) Nayanakelidevī, entitled Paṭṭamahādevī and Mahārājñī.²
(b) Gosaladevi. This wife was also called Paṭṭamahādevī Mahārājñī, which shows that she was raised to this dignity after the death of the first wife.¹
