²⁷ Compare the Red Sea named Lohitya in Harivaṃśa, 231 (2.401), mentioned in connection with the milk ocean and Mt. Udaya in the east. Compare also the Jaina Aruṇadvīpa and the Aruṇodaya (red) sea. Viṣṇu, 2.2.24, locates a lake named Aruṇoda in the east in Bhadrāśva. Cf. Lohitya (in the east in the Bṛhatsaṃhitā, 14.6).
