Nabin who had for his portion the country of Hima... had a hundred sons, the oldest of whom was Bharata.... Under these princes, Bhāratavarṣa was divided into nine portions, and their descendants successively held possession of them for 71 periods of the aggregate of the four ages (or for the reign of a manu)....
