(3) That the Seven Dwīpas represent the successive changes in the earth's crust during different geological periods. This view is obviously farfetched since the whole of the Purāṇic world and animals and man, pertain to the most recent or current geological period of earth's history and have no relation with the past geological periods in the accepted sense of the word.
