The western portion of Siberia is included in Uttarakuru, a sub-region of Jambū Dvīpa by the Purāṇas.⁴⁴ The central and eastern parts of Siberia are the only two regions which satisfy conditions (1) to (5) and (7). Of these two, only the eastern part of Siberia and the adjoining lands satisfy (6). This narrows down our investigation to only one region—the north-eastern seaboard of Asia which qualifies for identification as Puṣkaradvīpa. Let us examine this region in detail concentrating only on inhabited or habitable lands which are covered by this region.
