Taṅgaṇa—The country stretching from the Râmgaṅgâ river to the upper Sarayû (*Brahmâṇḍa P.*, ch. 49; McCrindle’s *Ptolemy*, p. 210). It has been identified with Hataka or Ladak (*Barooah’s Dictionary*, vol. III, preface, p. 50).
