Timiṅgila—From its position among the countries of Southern India conquered by Sahadeva (*Mbh.*, Sabhâ, ch. 30; *Bṛihat-Saṃhitâ*, XIV, v. 16) and from the resemblance of its name, it may be inferred that Timiṅgila was the ancient name of Dindigala valley, in the district of Madura, Madras Presidency. It is the Tangala and Taga of Ptolemy.
