Chandwâr—Firozabad, near Agra, where in 1193 A. D. Shahabuddin Ghori defeated Jaya Chandra, king of Kanauj (Thornton's Gazetteer). Chandwar is evidently a contraction of Chandrapura (Varâha P., ch. 122).
