Amaranâth—The celebrated temple of Amaranâth is situated in a natural grotto in the Bhairava-ghâṭi range of the Himalaya in Kâśmir. The grotto is said to be full of wonderful congelations, where a curious block of ice, stalagmite, which periodically dissolves and reforms, is worshipped as Śiva Amaranâtha.
