II. The Kārūṣas probably had another settlement in the territory known in ancient times as Puṇḍra, or Puṇḍravardhana, roughly identical with N. Bengal; for according to the *Bhāgavatapurāṇa* (X, Chap. 66) Karūṣa seems to have been another name for Puṇḍra.
