Mention is made of several other Śākya towns besides Kapilavastu, viz. Chātumā, Sāmagāma, Ulumpā, Devadaha, Sakkara, Sīlāvatī, and Khomadussa.¹ The latter was so called on account of its abundant produce of linen cloth.²
