Mūjavant.—Its other equivalent is Muñjavant which occurs in the *Mahābhārata* (X, 785; XIV, 180; see also Translation of the Ṛgveda by Ludwig, 3, 198). It is the name of a mountain in the Himalaya. It occurs in the *Ṛgveda*, X. 34, 1, where it is read as Maujavata. In the Siddhānta Kaumudī on Pāṇini (IV, 4, 110) we get another variant Mauñjavata. According to some it was a hill from which the people took their name. Zimmer in his *Altindisches Leben*, 29, says that it was one of the lower hills on the south-west of Kāśmīra.
