Paṭala.—It is situated in the Indus delta. It was evidently the capital of the province watered by the lower Indus, whence its Greek designation of Patalene. (J. Ph. Vogel, *Notes on Ptolemy*, *B.S.O.A.S.*, XIV, Pt. I, p. 84; vide Prasthala).
