Rādhākuṇḍa.—It is also known as Āriṭ because Śrīkṛṣṇa in the guise of an ox killed the demon Ariṣṭa. As Rādhā, the consort of Kṛṣṇa, refused to touch his body because he killed a cow, he had a pond dug for his bath and for removing the sins accumulated by him. This pond was called the Śyāmakuṇḍa. Rādhā had also a pond dug by the side of the Śyāmakuṇḍa called the Rādhākuṇḍa.
