Itkhori.—It is about 10 miles south of Champaran which is at the head of the Danua Pass from Gayā on the G.T. Road. It is a most neglected place in the district of Hazaribagh, where several stone images of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain deities have been found scattered. Nearby there is an extensive forest. An inscription of king Mahendrapāla on an image of Tārā has been discovered here (*A.S.I.R.*, 1920-21, p. 35; *Hazaribagh*, by Lister, B. and O. District Gazetteers, 1917, p. 201).
