Ahiārī.—This village is situated a little to the south-east of Kamtaul about 15 miles north-west of Darbhanga. As traditionally known this place was the shrine of the sage Gautama whose wife Ahalyā was remarkable for her beauty (*Darbhanga*, by O’Malley, p. 141, *Bengal District Gazetteers*).
