Sumbha.—It was the country of the Sumbhas with Setaka as its capital. Some have identified it with Sumha (modern Midnapur district) but the location is uncertain. This country was visited by the Buddha who dwelt in a forest in this country near the town of Desaka where he told a tale concerning the Janapadakalyāṇī Sutta (Cowell, Jātaka, I, p. 232).
