Vamka.—It was a mountain near Rājagṛha. Its older name was Vepulla (see *Annals of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute*, VIII, 164; cf. *Samyutta*, II, 191-92). It is mentioned in the *Jātaka* (VI, 491, 513, 520, 524-25, 580, 592).
