How are we, then, to reconcile the Indian testimony to the patent fact of Hindu colonization on a wide scale in South-east Asia? The question is not easy to answer, but we may offer a hypothetic reconstruction of the whole process of this colonization which will explain the reticence of Indian records in this respect.
