Another Hindu Colony in this region is named by the Chinese P'an-p'an. The second Kauṇḍinya passed through this place on his way to Fu-nan. We learn from a passage preserved in Ma Twan-lin's encyclopaedic work that many Brāhmaṇas came to this country from India in order to profit by the munificence of the king who held them in high favour. It sent an embassy to China, during the period 424-453 A.D.
