Before his retirement Airlaṅga divided the kingdom between his two sons. Of the two states that arose in this way Kaḍiri became famous. The capital city Keḍiri still exists under the old name. Its kings were great patrons of literature and to them belongs the credit for the rich Indo-Javanese literature to which reference will be made later.
